In computing this term we are looking at programming. We have been using ScratchJr to discover that a sequence of commands has an 'outcome'.We had to produce sets of blocks to run a programme that would deliver a specific outcome.
Today we had lots of fun during our family learning morning. We designed our own puppets then practiced our running stitch to sew them.

Today we worked scientifically to help us to understand that water can be a solid as well as a liquid. We used different timed methods to change the state of the ice.
In maths we have been using clocks to tell the time to 5 minute intervals.
In science this term we have been looking at materials and matter. Today we carried out an experiment to help us understand that the shape of solid objects made by some materials, can be changed.
We had lots of fun taking part in a kick rounders festival with lots of other schools.
Today we worked together looking at pages from our new book in English. We had to look for aspirational words that described the animals movements to create a class word bank to help us in our writing
Today we celebrated Wonderful Women day by inviting family members into school to join in with our learning.
Today we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters
Today the children took part in a sponsored pancake toss to help raise funds for the school.
In English this term we will be focussing on stories written by Roald Dahl. Today we used dictionaries to find out the meaning of new words that will appear in our books.
In English we have been reading the book 'Dear Earth'. This week we have written and filmed our own travel Vlogs. We hope you enjoy listening to our adventures

In PE this term we have been learning gymnastics skills with The Windsor Sports Partnership. This week we entered a local gymnastic competition to practice and use our new skills. By working as a team we had great fun and even managed to finish first in the competition!!!
In science this term we hve be learning all about electricity and safety. Today we discussed electrical current and how electricity flows. To test this idea the children created their own electrical circuits using wires, batteries and lightbulbs
In music the children have been learning about how events and feelings within a story can be represented by pitch tempo and dynamics

In ICT this term, we are learning all about Robot Algorithms. In todays lesson, the children focussed on sequences and the importance of the order of instructions within a sequence
Festive fun at the Christmas fair
Today the children enjoyed learning all about Christmas at the Christmas Exhibition
To support our topic on The Romans, Year 2 visited Ufton Court. We enjoyed spending the day pretending to be Romans. We learnt all about Roman military moves, crime and punishment and also got to try different traditional Roman jobs.
In English we have started reading the book The Dragon Machine. We learnt that Dragons hide in plain sight. To test this theory we decided to go dragon spotting around school before writing our own guides to spotting dragons.
We enjoyed taking part in our first Interhouse Competition of the year. Lead by our school Sports Leaders we had to complete a timed shuttle run and jumping activity. We will try to beat our scores again in the summer
Today Year 2 got to watch the fantastic Beauty and the Beast Pantomime with the rest of the school
This week in Art the children had to use natural materials and try to use symmetry like Andy Goldsworthy's work.
In English we have been thinking about features of a story. Today we discussed what made a good story opener and became story opener detectives.
In science we have been learning all about the human body. Today we discussed hygiene and germs. We carried out a science experiment using glitter to show how easily germs can spread.
In Computing, we have been learning all about IT in the world around us. Today we pretended to be 'barcodes' , 'scanners' and 'tills' to understand how the three different areas of IT work together.
For PE this term, the children are learning Rugby Skills led by a coach from The London Irish Rugby Foundation.
