Welcome to Year 6.
Mrs Whittingham is the class teacher.
Mrs Anstee is the class teaching assistant.
Our history day topic was shoes. We were given two shoes from World War 2 to use as a primary source. We looked at the shoes and guessed what time period we thought they were from, who wore them and what they were made of. We then used secondary sources to research if we were correct and answer any questions we had about the shoes.
We made scribble bots in our electricity unit in science, we had to use our knowledge of circuits and our Christian value of resilience in order to be successful!
In DT this term we had to plan our own recipes for a starter, a main and a dessert and budget it so that all of the ingredients came to under £10. During this lesson we made our starters: Scotch eggs, garlic bread, mini pizzas and mozzarella sticks. Once they had all been made everyone had a chance to taste them and rate them out of 5. Every starter was a success and was score at least a 4. Next lesson we will be making our mains!
The sports leaders led the ‘most improved person’ house competition today. The top 3 children will receive points for their house. The results will be shared with the borough to see which school also had the best score! We will redo the challenge in the summer and see who has improved the most.
