We love our visits to Early Years where we have the opportunity to play on the climbing frame and ride the bikes as well as play with the sand and the huge dolls house.
Our flowers are starting to grow because we water them every day!
We have been reading ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle and using felt motifs and food cards we can order events in the story.
We went on a minibeast hunt in the forest school. Using our checklist we searched and searched the area. We had to move logs and planks so we could find a hidden world of minibeasts! We found spiders, wood lice, millipedes and slugs as well as beetles and flies.
We loved playing in our sandy mini east sensory tray!
Our new topic is ‘Lifecycles’. We are exploring the lifecycles of frogs, butterflies and plants as well as looking at the mini beasts we can see around us.
Today we had great fun playing with the wet sensory frog tray!
We are learning to count in 10s!
We made delicious chocolate ‘mud’ cakes as a finale to our ‘On the farm’ topic.
We have been exploring 3D shapes and learning the names of the most common shapes and relating them to objects we find all around us.
In stage 3 bucket time we created our own individual tunes on the xylophones.
In our sensory play we recreated a muddy farmyard with ooblick and farm animals. We had enormous fun covering the animals and ourselves in gloopy ‘mud’ and watching the drips fall back into the tray.
We have been reading the traditional tale of ‘The Little Red Hen’ and learning about the processes involved in making bread. Today, just like the Little red hen, we made our own bread...it was delicious!
We have been exploring the topic of ‘On the farm’. Just like a farmer, we have planted some seeds.
We are taking good care of our seeds and watering them every day.
