Welcome to Year 1.
The class teacher is Miss Weerasekera and Mrs Cherrill & Mrs Ram are the support staff.
We read the story 'Owl Babies'. We wrote our own stories based on the events in Owl Babies. We also made our own owls using cotton wool for feathers.
During 'Black History Day', we learnt about Martin Luther King and his wish for everyone to be treated equally. We then thought about what our wishes are for everyone.
We hope you enjoyed our Harvest Church service as much as we did!
This half term, we have been learning about Autumn. We made our squirrels and hedgehogs using dried leaves. We also wrote Autumn poems and learnt about the changes we see when Autumn has arrived.
We all took part in the pancake toss. Filip won 1st Place!
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. We had a fantastic day!

We had an amazing workshop visit us. They were called 'Fantastic Fred' and they taught us about all the things we must do to keep our minds healthy.
We had our Easter Exhibition today. Mr and Mrs Buckeridge (and their friends) helped us to understand the Easter Story.
This half term we read 'Handa's Surprise'. We wrote our own version of 'Handa's Surprise' and changed the setting, the animals and the fruit.
