Year 4 – Recommended reading list
In science we have been looking at teeth! We did an experiment to see which drinks are the worst for our teeth. The shell of the egg is like the enamel on our teeth, we left the eggs in the liquids for 5 days and then made conclusions from the results.
For part of our DT topic we tasted different pizzas and evaluated their taste, appearance, smell, texture, packaging and target audience
During our Roman day we learnt about what the Romans invented that we still use today, we then looked at real Roman artefacts including Roman coins Alison had found with a metal detector! We then had a real Roman maths lesson about Roman numerals and had an afternoon full of DT; making Roman biscuits and painting our Roman vases. We then finished the afternoon with a fantastic Roman feast included fish, olives, grapes, bread, (chocolate) door mice and even red wine (blackcurrant squash)!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
