Rainbow fish
We have had so much fun this week reading The Rainbow fish story. We have painted pictures, made sea creatures with playdough and splashed around in the water with our sea creatures. We even used rainbow fish masks to retell the story. Rainbow fish, like many young children, has a difficult time sharing. Much like the rainbow fish, the children discovered that while sharing can be difficult, it creates happiness in those we share with and in ourselves. We also talked about going on a journey under the sea and looked at what transport we would use.
Poppy biscuits
Today we were looking at how important the poppy was and why we will be wearing them.We made some yummy poppy biscuits using icing sugar and chocolate buttons. are favourite part was eating them.
All about me!
We have been very busy learning about our faces and different body parts. We used playdough to make different faces and talked about all the parts on our face, learning new words to describe them. We took turns to draw around each other on big paper and helped each other to label the different body parts.
In maths we have been learning how to recognise the three primary colours, red, blue and yellow. In a builders tray we mix white to each colour to explore the different shades. Then we mixed the colours together to make new colours, putting the paint colours in our hands and rubbing them together.
In our construction area we made big towers using the different coloured bricks. We helped each other to count each brick making sure we said one number for each brick.
